The best time to use Rozol for Richardson's Ground Squirrels (gophers) in Saskatchewan is just after the snow melts, when they first come out of their burrows. At this time, they are very hungry and there is little green grass available. Later in the season, when green grasses and plants are growing, the greens can act like an antidote to the poison in Rozol, making control much less effective.
