[ARCHIVED] Public Information Sessions - Saskatoon Freeway Functional Planning

The Ministry of Highways & Infrastructure and their consulting team will be hosting two (2) come-and-go public information sessions giving members of the public an opportunity to discuss design options and offer feedback on the proposed route for Phase One (northern section) of the Saskatoon Freeway. Phase One of the functional planning study includes Highway 16 north of Saskatoon, westerly to Highway 12, Highway 11 and a bridge crossing over the South Saskatchewan river.

Public Information Sessions are scheduled as follows:

  • November 26, 4 to 8 pm at the Saskatoon Inn (Courtyard Room). 2002 Airport Drive, Saskatoon
  • November 27, 4 to 8 pm at the Henk Ruys Soccer Centre (upstairs lounge). 219 Primrose Drive, Saskatoon

Staff from the project team will be present at both sessions to provide updates on environmental assessment, stakeholder consultations, and answer technical questions about freeway interchanges and safety designs. Specialized areas will be set up to illustrate specific changes being proposed to all the major highway systems and their major connector roads such as Wanuskewin Road and Penner Road.  Information on the additional river crossing (bridge) on the north side of the city will also be provided.

Additional public consultation will take place in the future on the additional phases of the functional planning study for the Saskatoon Freeway. For more information on the project please visit www.saskatoonfreeway.org
