Amendments to the R.M. Zoning Bylaw and Official Community Plan, for the extension of approvals for a Mineral Resource Extraction Industry (gravel pit) from a two (2) year approval to allow for four (4) year approvals have been received and are now in effect.

All applications received after September 1, 2017 can be subject to a maximum approval of four (4) years before requiring re-approval. Council may also choose a lesser approval timeline at the time they grant approval. Re-application must include the submission of all required fees and documentation. 

Applications which have been previously approved for two (2) years will expire as per the date on the Development Permit, as approved by R.M. Council; upon re-application, if necessary, the Mineral Resource Extraction can be approved under the new four (4) year expiration.
